This Paralympic sport is a test of accuracy and control, in which competitors use air rifles to fire a series of shots at a stationary target. Each athlete is set at an individual station and taught safety when handling the air rifle. Athletes must be at least 12 years of age. DASA programming is geared towards individuals with Spina Bifida, Spinal Cord Injury, Cerebral Palsy, Amputee, Visual Impairment, Muscular Dystrophy, Multiple Sclerosis, Traumatic Brain Injury, or an Orthopedic diagnosis. DASA works with cognitively age-appropriate individuals 5 years of age and older, including military veterans and injured first responders, living with permanent physical disabilities who have difficulty participating in sports with their non-disabled peers.
